CenterPoint Properties breaks ground on Ace Hardware in Wilmer

CenterPoint Properties celebrated the groundbreaking of a new ACE Hardware build-to-suit for lease, located in Wilmer, Texas. The 450,000 square foot facility will be situated on 31.3 acres within the 59.9 acre Sunridge Business Park.
 

“CenterPoint is excited to welcome ACE Hardware to Wilmer,” said Edward Harrington, Senior Vice President, Development of CenterPoint Properties. “This new building will be a significant achievement for not only CenterPoint and ACE, but also for the community of Wilmer.”
 

The facility will be leased long-term, for ten years, and is located approximately 10 miles outside Dallas, along the LBJ Freeway (I-45). The site is also positioned one-half miles from the Union Pacific’s Dallas Intermodal Hub. ACE has estimated that they will bring in close to 3,000 containers annually, from this terminal.
 

“Building off the success of our new state-of-art redistribution center in Virginia, we are pleased to have broken ground once again with CenterPoint, this time in Texas”, said Rick Whitson, Vice President of Retail Support, Ace Hardware Corporation. “CenterPoint has proven to be a great logistics affiliate who, like us, recognizes the logistical advantages and added value of this new facility.”
 

Whitson was among the speakers at the groundbreaking, which also included remarks from Mayor A. Hector Casarez and Edward Harrington. The ceremony took place at 1101 East Pleasant Run Road in Wilmer on March 19, 2013.
 

The facility is scheduled to be completed by February, 2014. This is the second development CenterPoint will construct for the tenant. A 336,000 SF facility was completed in May, 2012 at CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Suffolk, Virginia. CBRE represented ACE Hardware on the transaction.
